Why Did Dr. Vincent Lam Decide To Become A Dentist?
While in college, Dr. Vincent Lam was not entirely sure what direction he wanted his career to take. During his junior year, he began volunteering at dental clinics in San Diego, serving underserved communities. This experience sparked a strong interest in dentistry, as he found fulfillment in helping others. He soon began shadowing his childhood dentist and even earned his x-ray license so he could take on a more active role at the clinics. From that point, his future in dentistry was clear.
Education & Training
Dr. Lam earned both his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and his Master of Science in biology from the University of California, San Diego. He then attended Temple University in Philadelphia, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2014. Since graduation, he has pursued continuing education in areas such as CEREC same-day crowns, oral sedation, dental implant placement, and comprehensive treatment planning. He is also expanding his knowledge through the John Kois curriculum, one of the most respected programs in modern dentistry.
Outside The Dental Office
When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Lam enjoys an active and creative lifestyle. He became engaged in 2022 and is looking forward to his future as a husband. In his free time, he enjoys photography, barbecuing with friends and family, and traveling, especially to breweries. He also has a passion for exploring new technology, which is reflected throughout the welcoming environment at Seahurst Smiles.
