Your Expert in Personalized, Biomimetic Dentistry
Dr. Lam believes that a little dentistry goes a long way when it’s applied correctly. Biomimetic dentistry focuses on using a light touch and preserving as much of your existing teeth as possible, and if any treatments are needed, they are done in a way that is designed to recreate nature. This requires a more personalized and detailed approach on his part, but he’s more than happy to put in the extra effort because it leads to a better result and experience for his patients.

From general inquiries about our services to more specific details about oral hygiene and treatments, Seahurst Smiles of Burien has got you covered. How Do I Get Emergency Dental Care?
Time is of the essence in emergency situations. That's why we offer quick and convenient treatment options to address your urgent needs. If you find yourself in an emergency situation, the first step is to give our team a call. We'll gather important information about your condition over the phone and schedule a time for you to visit our office. In the meantime, you can try a few things at home to ease any discomfort you may be experiencing. An experienced team member will give you tips when you call.
It's crucial to note that if you're having difficulty breathing, trouble swallowing, a fractured jaw, or any other potentially life-threatening symptoms along with your dental injury, it's important to call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately. Once you've received the necessary medical attention, we'll be here to help restore your smile and provide the dental care you require.
How Do I Find the Best Place to Get Dental Work Done?
The first thing you need to do is figure out what you're searching for. For instance, if you want to find a highly recommended dentist, a good starting point is to search on Google for "dentist near me" and take a look at the reviews. Most patients aim to find an office with an excellent team, a wide range of services, acceptance of insurance, and a focus on cleanliness. If all of these things are on your checklist, then your search ends here because Dr. Lam would be thrilled to be your trusted dentist!
What to Do If You Can’t Afford a Dentist?
We understand you may be concerned about the cost of visiting our practice. However, we offer several ways to help you save! You can sign up for our in-house membership plan, which gives you access to preventive dental care for the entire year at a low cost. Additionally, we offer flexible financing through CareCredit.
Keep in mind that the overall cost of your dental care largely depends on how well you prioritize preventive care. Visiting us every six months will allow us to detect oral health issues in their early stages and prevent them from progressing further. Believe it or not, every dollar you invest in preventive care can save you plenty of money on cosmetic and restorative treatments over time. So, focusing on prevention not only helps maintain your oral health but also proves to be a cost-effective approach in the long run.
What Level of Education Is Required to be a Dentist?
In the United States, all dentists must have either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) degree. They must complete a bachelor's degree (usually with high grades in math and science courses) as a prerequisite for acceptance into dental school. Dental school itself typically lasts for three years and combines both classroom instruction and hands-on learning. However, some dentists may choose to pursue further specialization by completing an additional three or more years of training in one of the twelve recognized areas by the American Dental Association. It's also important to note that all dentists are mandated to participate in ongoing continuing education to ensure their skills and knowledge stay up-to-date and to maintain their professional license.
